Default Marching orders.

Probably won't see the light of day in GW, but maybe GW2.

H/H need some sort of "Formation" setting. Even if it's as simple as a setting to march "single file" or something. Nothing is worse than stopping to set up a pull, and Livia and Mhenlo are off necking in the middle of a lava pool.

I'm not talking about being able to set up individuals in certain positions, but just to prevent "clustering" all the blasted time.

Not to mention that marching into battle at the head of a "Flying V" would just be badass.

There's only one order i'd need to command my H/H team, "SPREAD THE F.CK OUT!".

QFT. It doesn't matter how I flag, I always find Master of Whispers summoning minions in the middle of some sort of fire pit, poison dart trap, etc and the designated AI healer healing him...in the middle of said danger.

If not formation command, better AI.

Yeah, I'd personally very like to see buttons with a single-file and spread out (same as the regular 3, 3, 2, formation but more spread out) options.

The only thing I see they need is something like this.

Something to set how far they can stay from the flag.

Even better if it where a way to set set how far they MUST stay from the flag...

But formations is not needed when you are fighting in GW with AI, it's not like dungeon siege, it has no single player mode, so you can always get players if you need more strategy.

"Spread out" seems like a good idea. Also, the H/H should be able to continue attacking their current target even though the player would move a bit on the battlefield. There's nothing like the whole party breaking aggro should you move an inch.

I've learn to adapt to the no spread out ways of controlling heros, lol, flag them, away from each other then pull.

to the OP: i thought there aren't going to be heros in GW2? only companions? anyone know anything regarding this?

kinda not what i wish, i love my heros.

@ pie: As far as we know, there will be no heroes, just one companion that will be around when "soloing." Amount of companions we have are unknown, but I believe it was said one per person and only when not in a party. This, of course, could be/have been changed.

The orders idea is rather neat. I wouldn't mind seeing that added. getting six of the incomplete box formation .

Doesn't work when you don't have heroes yet. :P My Monk is still in Borlis Pass (Why oh why did I make him in prophesies)

hehehe, i reach level 20 in a day starting from shing jea. lol but won't try it ever again, my wrist hurt lol she's my survivor necromancer.

PS: for Traveller

you can use the lock target function in the heros panel. but i know its a pain, to do it and only heros can be control that way, but i use another alternative.

click on target you want hero/hench to kill, set the order, and you switch target, go back and forth. not 100% full proof thou. need some practices. especially Devona, she likes to run ahead cos of her charge skill, lol.

also if you have pets you can lock them on one target while you kill the other target. works pretty well when you meet up with a 2 monks team in RA, using a beast master ranger. need to have disrupting lunge on your skill bar thou.

If heroes stayed within a 5 m radius of the flags, I'd be ecstatic, but I always find Koss running off to agro something from the edges of the compass just to spite the flag.

Maybe implement some sort of AI so the heroes recognize "SITTING IN LAVA=BAD!"

Spread out would be a nice command, along with "don't go past this line no matter what".
